I am a lecturer in political theory at the University of Limerick’s Department of Politics and Public Administration My current research is on crisis theory and its implications for contemporary political thought, and I also work on questions relating to the sovereign nation-state, democratic theory, global justice, the critical theory of Jürgen Habermas, and Immanuel Kant’s political philosophy.

I completed my bachelor’s degree at Vassar College and received my master’s degree and Ph.D. at the New School for Social Research in New York, under the supervision of Nancy Fraser, and I’ve held fellowships at the Fondation Maison des science de l’homme in Paris, the Forschungskolleg Humanwissenschaften in Bad Homburg, and the J.F.K.-Institut für Nordamerikastudien at the Freie Universität Berlin. From 2016 to 2021, I worked under the Chair of International Political Theory at Goethe University Frankfurt’s Research Centre “Normative Orders.”

I joined the faculty of the University of Limerick in Fall 2021.
